BLOG POST NUMBER ONE
I do not think QR codes are useful because it's not typical that someone would take out there phone and use it to do that. I think that it's a cool idea but it's not applicable to every day life.
A hashtag is a used on social networking sites such as twitter. It can be used to advertise and is completely free. Here's an example "I love my new bike. I bought it at #BestBike !" and then it tags it so that anyone else who searches "bestbike" or hashtags the same thing can see that on a link on twitter. You can use it to promote your blog by hashtagging someone in your blog that people might often search and someone might see that and click on your blog link.
A blog is a page one creates on a website. The page belongs to that person and they can blog creatively, promote products or ideas and share that idea and creativity with others who follow them. People share posts and articles on their blogs.
A person can tweet 140 characters per tweet. I think this is sufficient for marketing because an advertisement should be pithy and to the point. People don't generally care enough to take the time to read all about a product therefore I think that 140 characters is a good limitation. For personal use I think it should be a bit longer. Maybe 200 characters.
The origin of the word blog is Web Log.
Bit.ly is an example of a URL shortening website. It takes long URLs that would not fit on a twitter post or a blog post and it shortens them. This also makes it more appealing to the eye to click on.
Blogs are made up of articles and posts and sometimes pictures too.

The benefit is seeing their tweets and clicking on their posts URLs. You can follow famous people or friends and you can call businesses who promote themselves on twitter.
